ABOUT THE PROJECT
Buupass is Kenya’s market leader for online bus booking. While Buupass had a vision of being a convenient and efficient way to reserve seats and make payments for bus travel, there were several gaps in user experience and they were looking at ways to expand their marketing reach.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
For Buupass, ChewingRice acted as a strategy consultant regarding their communications and user experience. Our deliverables included:
A strategy document for product improvement, including elements of UX strategy that would improve accessibility and efficiency in their USSD booking system [non-data reliant text-based e-commerce booking system]
A full multi-channel communications strategy document
Our consulting ensured the target audience was front of mind, particularly through a gender lens. For example, the USSD strategy addressed a seating reservation issue allowing users (particularly considering women) to reserve a seat before departure, reducing the need to wait at the bus stop for a seat that is not guaranteed, sometimes late at night at terminals that might not be safe.
